Eligibility: Open to all residents of United States and its territories. Must be a current student (Sophomore, Junior, Senior) of an accredited college or university majoring in African American Studies, Africana Studies, Black Studies, or related discipline. Must have a GPA of at least a 2.0.

Congratulations to Sarah Homan, the recipient of the 2nd Annual Alex Tha Great Award for Black Studies Scholars. Sarah received a $750 scholarship based on her commitment to service, amplification of voices in the black community, and scholarly work as a senior at The Ohio State University majoring in African American and African Studies. Regarding the award, Sarah says she is "humbled and grateful to receive this award as it will help pay off some student loans allowing pursuit of more scholastic opportunities after graduation". We wish Sarah well in her continued studies and commend her for her contributions to the discipline.
